Book editing

Novels – nonfiction – structural edits – line edits

Writing a book is a phenomenal achievement. But, once you’ve spent months questioning every word choice and every comma placement, it can be hard to take a step back and look impartially at what you’ve written.

That’s where I come in. There is no book – novel or nonfiction – that can’t be improved with a good edit. Even the most successful authors need an editor to help them make their book the best it can possibly be.

I offer a structural edit, where I provide advice and guidance on the overall shape of your book. This will help you think about whether every chapter achieves what you intend for it, and whether it’s in the right place in the book to have maximum impact.

I also offer a line edit, where I go through the book, sentence by sentence, making sure it reads as well as it possibly can. I will ensure that it is stylistically and tonally consistent, so that it’s ready to send out into the world – whether you’re looking to self-publish or to approach literary agents.
